The Central Pennsylvania Basket Weavers' Guild
was founded in January 1997 for the purposes of perpetuating the art of basketry; stimulating public appreciation, knowledge of and interest in basketry; and emphasizing the importance of basketry as a heritage craft.

GUILD MEMBERSHIP
Membership to the Central Pennsylvania Basket Weavers' Guild includes open attendance to all guild meetings. Monthly guild weaves are held in January, February, March, May, June, July, August, October, and November. An annual Weaving Retreat is held in April for current members only, fees extra. We also host a basket convention, A Weaving Odyssey each September. No guild meetings are scheduled in December. Membership dues are $20 per calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Dues cannot be prorated. New members are invited to join the Guild! Dues are $20. New members who join the guild in September at the Weaving Odyssey will receive four months free, as well as the following calendar year. The CPBWG’s members are from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, and several other states. We welcome new members! If you would like to attend one class before becoming a member, contact the Program Chair.

This is also the make-up date for the January Apple Basket class taught
by Joanne Sheriff.
We will also hold our Holiday Party on this date! The Guild will provide a main dish. We ask that you bring a side dish or dessert to share and a beverage for yourself. Hopefully snow will not be in the forecast this time!

SPRING RETREAT
Spring Retreat held at the Gitt Library, Hanover, PA: This year’s retreat has been extended by one day! It will run from Thursday 4/25 through Sunday 4/28. Kathy Petronzio will be teaching a variety of classes. Information was emailed on February 13. Registrations should be post-marked March 1 or after. Contact Anne Kelly with any questions.
